The project of a monument to medical workers who died in the fight against COVID-19 was approved at meeting of the relevant Commission at the Dagestan state medical University on September 28.

 The Commission included representatives of the Ministry of health of Dagestan Republic, public organizations, joint trade Union Committee and its student sector, the members of elder Council, the Association of graduates of DSMU, heads of structural divisions.

 Five works were submitted to the contest which started in early August, and the final project was approved as a result of the discussion. Its author is the artist Magomed Nurmagomedov.

 Recall that the proposal for the construction of the monument was announced by the rector of the University Suleyman Mammaev at the meeting with members of elder Council and the Association of graduates of DSMU which was held on July 29.
