Activists of the Volunteer Center of DSMU conducted a number of preventive conversations within the framework of the “Young Dentist” campaign for students of the 6th grade of “Gymnasium No. 28” named after Hero of the Russian Federation A.I. Ismailov, for students of grades 7-8 of the “Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 5” named after A.S. Pushkin and students of the 7th grade of the “Lyceum No. 22”, as well as  for students of the 10th grade of “Gymnasium No. 13”. For the purpose of educating Teaching of schoolchildren in the field of dentistry and excursion were conducted at the Department of propaedeutic and preventive dentistry in addition to the conversation.

During the lecture, the volunteers told the students about the structure of the oral cavity, how to properly clean teeth, about caries, its consequences, possible complications and preventive and treatment measures. The guys, in turn, asked their questions, which the activists were happy to answer. Also during the conversation, the volunteers identified future dentists among the students.

After the activists’ story, a tour of the Department of propaedeutic and preventive dentistry was conducted for the students, where the children could clearly see the technical equipment of dental offices, devices, their purpose and methods of use.

“What is oral hygiene for? Firstly, for a healthy, beautiful smile and fresh breath. And secondly, to prevent gum and tooth diseases, respectively. That is why it is necessary to regularly carry out professional oral hygiene and preventive examinations at the dentist. Our goal is to convey to the children the fact that oral hygiene should be an integral part of their lives. Teeth are a mirror of the body and a person’s attitude to their health,” said  an activist of the Volunteer Center Jamal Dibirov. The students listened to the activists with great interest and noted that they were looking forward to the next meetings. We concluded the meeting with parting words and a shared photo.
