Regional Student Scientific and Practical Conference “Medicine. Languages. Culture” was held on April 24 in the walls of the scientific and educational innovation center of the Dagestan State Medical University.

The organizer of this event was the Department of Foreign and Latin Languages of DSMU together with the student scientific circle of the department “MedLingua”. The Volunteer Center of DSMU also took part in the organization of the event.

Naida Mollaeva, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, addressed the participants and guests with a welcoming speech on behalf of the Rector of DSMU Visampasha Khanaliev. She emphasized the importance of foreign languages in scientific and educational practice.

The conference was also attended by Gadzhimurad Dalgatov – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Preventive Medicine, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of DSMU, Gasbulla Barkaev – Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of DSMU, Ilyas Shamov – Associate Professor of the Department of Propaedeutic and Preventive Dentistry, Venera Musaeva – Director of the Scientific Library of DSMU.

This year more than 110 students from the leading universities of the republic – DGMU, DGU, DGPU, DGTU – participated in the conference. The speakers presented their works in English and Russian languages within 5 sections.

Angela Azizkhanova, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign and Latin Languages of DSMU, headed the English language section.

Patimat Ramazanova, Associate Professor of the Department, became the Chairman of the Latin Language Section. The experts of the conference included representatives of the teaching staff of the Department of Foreign and Latin Languages of DGMU, as well as teachers of DGU, DGPU, DGTU.

At the end of the conference the winners and prize-winners of each section were awarded diplomas of 1, 2 and 3 degrees, and each participant of the conference received a certificate of participation.

The conference was productive.
