History of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty.

The department was founded in 1935. Its first head was Associate Professor  Tchaikovsky  V. K. He worked until 1939.

The department was headed by Associate Professor N. P. Verkhatsky  from 1939 to 1944. Professor  Asatiani  G. K.  headed  it  from 1945 to 1948 . Later the department was headed by Professor  Feuertach G. M.  (1948-1950), Professor  Moshkov B. N. (1950-1952), Professor  Teverovsky M. I. (1952-1953), Associate Professor Atanova E. M.  (1953-1959). The department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Honored Doctor of the DASSR, Honored Scientist of   DASSR Omarov Sultan-Murad Aslanovich from 1960 to 1985.

Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Excellent Health Worker of the USSR, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Dagestan, war and labor  veteran Zaidieva Zagidat Nabievna  headed the department  from 1986 to 1992.  To date, the department is headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Dagestan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Dagestan Khashaeva Tamara Khadzhimuradovna

 Information about the teaching staff

The teaching staff of the department consists of 20 teachers. Most of them are experienced teachers and clinicians with an average work experience of 13.6 years. The department has 3 doctors of science: head of the department — professor and 2 professors. Among the assistants there are 14 candidates of science, six of them have the title of Associate professor.

Without a degree, the department has only 3 teachers (14.3%), one of them has a planned dissertation research completed.

Khashaeva Tamara Khadzhimuradovna -Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty of  DSMU, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Dagestan, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Dagestan, Academician of the Dagestan National Academy, doctor of the highest category. She has been working at DSMA since 1968. Candidate’s dissertation was defended in 1973, doctor’s dissertation in 1991. Under her leadership about15 PhD theses were defended.

Abusuyeva Zukhra Abusuyevna is a head teacher of the department, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences. She graduated from DSMU in 1994. She has been working at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Faculty of Medicine since 1996 as an assistant, Associate professor since 2007 and Professor of the department since 2015.

PhD thesis was defended in Moscow on the topic “Lactation function in postpartum women who underwent cesarean section” in 1999.Doctor of the highest category. Abusuyeva Zukhra combines work at the department with the head of the Department of gynecology of the maternity hospital since 2010.

Omarova Khalimat Magomedovna is a doctor of the highest category, Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Doctor of Medical Sciences. She graduated from DSMU in 1991. She has been working at the department since 2000 as an assistant, Associate professor since 2012 and Professor of the department since 2015. PhD thesis was defended in Moscow on the topic “Maternity care of pregnant women with pulmonary tuberculosis” in 1999, doctoral thesis on the topic “Features of the course of gestation and lactation in pregnant women with varicose veins of the lower extremities and genitals” in 2009.

Allakhkulieva Saida Zibiulaevna is a doctor of the highest category, Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from DSMA in 1989. She has been working at the department as a senior laboratory assistant since 1992, as an assistant since 1996, and as an associate professor of the department since 2003. PhD thesis was defended on the topic “Lactation function in obese women” in Moscow in 1998 .

Gatina Guzel Amirovna is a doctor of the highest category, Associate professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from the DSMA in 1980. She has been working at the department since 1987 as an assistant, as an associate professor since 2014 . Candidate’s thesis was defended  in Moscow in 1987.She was elected Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the DSMI in 1988-1992.

Dzhalilova Albina Nurmagomedovna is a doctor of the highest category, Associate professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from DSMU in 1993. She has been working at the department as an assistant since 1996,  as Associate professor of the department since 2014. PhD thesis was defended in 2001 on the topic “Urogenital chlamydia in women of reproductive age” in Moscow in 2001.

Ibragimov Bakhmud Rasulovich is a doctor of the highest category, Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. He has been working at the department since as an assistant since 2015 and as an associate professor of the department since 1998. PhD thesis was defended in Moscow in 1989. Honored Doctor of Dagestan.

Madina Akhmedovna Odamanova is a doctor of the highest category, Associate professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from DSMU in 1986. She has been working at the department as a senior laboratory assistant since 1989, as an assistant since 1998 and as an associate professor of the department since 2015. PhD thesis was defended on the topic “Features of menopausal syndrome in women with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus” in Moscow in 1999. She is responsible for scientific work at the department.

Esetov Azedin Muradovich is a doctor of the highest category, candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. He has been working at the department since 1968 as an assistant and since 1994 as an associate professor of the department. From 1990 to 2005, he combined work at the department with the position of chief obstetrician-gynecologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Dagestan. Doctor of the highest category, Honored Doctor of Dagestan.
Alieva Svetlana Aidemirovna is an assistant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty. She graduated from DSMU in 1993. She has been working at the department since 1997 as a senior laboratory assistant, and as an assistant since 2004. PhD thesis was defended in 2017 on the topic “The relationship between the circulation of antiphospholipid antibodies and the fetal loss syndrome in patients with patients with autoimmune thyroid disease ” in Moscow.

Atagishieva Madina Sirazhudinovna is an assistant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She has been working at the department as an assistant since 2015. PhD thesis was defended in 2010.

Hasanova Bahu Musalaevna is an assistant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from DSMU in 2004. She has been working at the department since 2015 as an assistant. PhD thesis was defended on the topic “Reproductive potential of adolescent girls with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases” in Moscow in 2009.

Kakvaeva Suriya Shipaudinovna is an associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from DSMU in 1993. He has been working at the department as a senior laboratory assistant since 1996 , as an assistant since 2006 and as an associate professor since 2018  . PhD thesis was defended in 2006 on the topic “Menopause and renal arterial hypertension” in Volgograd.

Magomedova Madina Abdulkhalimovna is an assistant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She has been working at the department since 2002 as an assistant. PhD thesis was defended in 2004. She has the first medical category.

Makhmudova Aishat Rizvanovna is an assistant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty. She has been working at the department since 1980. Aishat Rizvanovna is a perinatologist, doctor of ultrasound diagnostics of the highest category.

Mehtikhanova Zaira Alifendievna is an assistant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from the DSMU in 1998. She has been working at the department since 2006 as a senior laboratory assistant, and as an assistant at the department since 2015. PhD thesis was defended on the topic “Lactation and viral infections” in Volgograd in 2006.

Nuraeva Tamara Shamilyevna is an assistant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from DSMU in 1997. Tamara Shamilyevna has been working at the department since 2001 as an assistant. PhD thesis was defended on the topic “Multiple pregnancy: clinical epidemiology and perinatal aspects” in Moscow in 2004. She has the first medical category.

Stefanyan Natella Amletovna is an Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Faculty of Medicine, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from BSMU in 1997. He has been working at DSMU since 1997 as an assistant, and since 2017 as an associate professor of the department. PhD thesis was defended in 2004 on the topic “The effectiveness of balneo-mud treatment in chronic inflammatory diseases of the female genital organs” in Volgograd.

Mammaeva Salidat Magdievna is an assistant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical Faculty, Candidate of Medical Sciences. She graduated from DSMU in 2003. She has been working at DSMA since 2009. PhD thesis was defended on the topic “Reproductive potential in adolescent girls with anemia” in Moscow in 2007.

Omarpashaeva Madina Isaevna is an assistant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Faculty of Medicine on a part-time basis since 2019. She has been a postgraduate since 2016. It is planned to defend the thesis in 2020.

Scientific work of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

The staff of the department takes an active part in the development of programs approved by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan.

-“Reproductive health of women in the region”

-“Family health. Medical and social research”

The staff of our department has successfully defended 3 doctoral and three candidate theses  for the past 5 years.

In addition, research work is being conducted on 2 PhD theses.
