In Russia, the Day of the Inventor and Innovator is celebrated annually on the last Saturday of June.

In 2021, the holiday is celebrated on June 26 and is held at the official level 41 times.

The Day of the Inventor and Innovator is a professional holiday of specialists in various fields of science and technology who have creative thinking and can create innovative technologies. Of course, this applies to doctors. The purpose of the holiday is to show the importance of the work of inventors.

DSMU annually celebrates the Day of the Inventor, our employees and young scientists are actively engaged in innovative activities. Over the past 3 years, we have received more than 50 patents for inventions and utility models, certificates for Computer Programs and Databases. Inventions of DSMU employees, presented at international exhibitions, are highly appreciated by the authoritative jury and become owners of gold and silver medals.

All the inventions of DSMU are applied in clinical medical practice, and this is an invaluable contribution to the treatment of patients and the well-being of their lives. I would like to mention the scientific areas in which our employees submit more applications for inventions and receive patents — these are surgery, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, dentistry, traumatology and orthopedics, ophthalmology, medical biophysics, oncology. It is very important that applications related to computer and information technologies have been actively submitted recently. 

An innovation activity importance factor is the successful participation of young scientists of our university in the All-Russian scientific and practical event “Relay of University Science”. Almost all the submitted projects had inventions or applications for inventions, which indicates the relevance and prospects of the scientific problem being solved, and our young scientists become winners of the “University Science Relay” every year.
