On June 24, 2021, an enlarged session of the Society of Neurologists and Neurosurgeons of the Republic of Dagestan was held, organized by the Department of Nervous Diseases, Medical Genetics and Neurosurgery of the DSMU. This meeting was devoted to an extremely urgent problem — the neurological consequences of a new coronavirus infection.

Associate Professor B. A. Abusueva addressed the participants with an introductory speech, which outlined the main problems facing neurologists in the conditions of the spread of coronavirus infection.
The main speakers were the head of the Department of Nervous Diseases of the Stavropol State Medical University, Professor S. M. Karpov, Head of the Department of Nervous Diseases of the Volgograd State Medical University, Professor O. V. Kurushina, as well as the head of the Department of Neurology of the ATF and ATS of the DSMU, Associate Professor Z. R. Umakhanova.

The speakers highlighted in their speeches the latest scientific data on disorders of the nervous system in patients who have suffered a coronavirus infection. The conference brought together about 150 neurologists from Dagestan.
