The Academic Council regular meeting was held on June 30 in the building of the scientific and educational innovation center of the Dagestan State Medical University. The meeting was opened and led by Acting Rector of DSMU Naida Mollayeva, who announced the agenda.

The participants paid a minute’s tribute of silence before the meeting to the memory of the outstanding university staff members, who deceased over the past month. Then the awards of the university and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Dagestan were awarded to the distinguished employees of the university in connection with the celebration of the Day of the Medical Worker.

Naida Mollayeva congratulated all members of the Academic Council on the professional holiday – the Day of the Medical Worker and noted that this is one of the most noble professions. “The pandemic has once again shown how important our work is. Since the first days of the pandemic, our employees and students have been helping doctors in medical institutions of the republic, working in the “red” and “green” zones, carrying out volunteer activities. I would like to thank all our colleagues for their selfless work, talent and skill, for perseverance and diligence in educating new generations of those who care about the health of their fellow citizens,” she said.

There were 4 issues on the agenda of the meeting: competitive cases; reports of the chairmen of the State Examination Board on the specialties “Medical care”, “Pediatrics”, “Dentistry”, “Medical and preventive care”, “Pharmacy”; on the development of the main educational programs of the specialty in the direction of “Clinical Medicine”; miscellaneous. Svetlana Mineeva, Secretary of the competition commission, introduced the members of the council to the candidates elected to various positions and submitted for academic titles.

The chairmen of the State Examination Boards in the specialties “Medical Care”, “Pediatrics”, “Dentistry”, “Medical and preventive care”, “Pharmacy” told about the results of the state final certification of graduates. They told about the stages of the GIA, its results and voiced their comments and recommendations.

Acting Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Jamila Omarova reported on the development of the main educational programs of the specialty in the direction of “Clinical Medicine”. In the “Any Other Business” section, there was information from the university management, heads of structural divisions.
