An annual scientific and practical conference with international participation “Topical issues of infectious diseases in the clinic and experiment in adults and children” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university, the 77th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 75th anniversary of the professor D.R. Akhmedova was held at the Scientific and Educational Innovation Center of Dagestan State Medical University on October 28.
The conference was opened by the head of the Department of Infectious Diseases named after Academician G.P. Rudnev of DSMU Jalaludin Akhmedov, who greeted its participants and introduced the guests on behalf of the Acting Rector of DSMU Visampasha Khanaliev.
The Acting Vice-Rector for Science Aida Mollayeva greeted all those present. “Our university is one of the oldest universities in the South of Russia with a glorious history and rich traditions.
The staff of the Department of Infectious Diseases is doing a great job. He proved himself as a specialist especially during the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection, when the republic needed highly qualified specialists. The staff of DSMU provided assistance to patients with COVID-19 side by side with doctors of practical health care. I want to say that Jalalutdin Rasulovich is doing a great job. 18 candidate’s and 1 doctoral dissertation were defended under his leadership.
He is the author of 450 scientific papers, 10 textbooks, 2 monographs. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of a very important peer-reviewed journal for the university “Bulletin of DSMU”. This is our big victory in terms of increasing publication activity at the university,” – said N. Mollayeva and wished D. Akhmedov and the staff of the department further success.
Chairman of the Committee on Health and Social Policy of the People’s Assembly of Dagestan Republic Ilyas Mamayev welcomed the participants of the conference and said that infectious diseases have been known to all mankind since ancient times. “Epidemics covered vast territories.
Healthcare has always been faced with the tasks of prevention in the fight against infectious diseases. The difficulties of implementing this dilemma in the current difficult living conditions of our society are obvious. While the world community is struggling with some diseases, new threats, previously unknown or disappeared diseases are emerging. Therefore, the relevance of such conferences is beyond doubt and I am sure that it will bring great benefits to all our doctors,”- he said.
Acting Vice-Rector for Medical Work Magomed Khamidov also spoke at the conference. He recalled the beginning of the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection, when in the office of the rector of the university, all employees of the departments of infectious diseases decided to go to the red zone for the treatment of patients with COVID-19. It was a real war with an invisible enemy and all of you were on the front line. I bow to you and wish you great success,” -M. Khamidov said.
