Within the framework of the board meeting the tasks for the future for the whole industry were set. “This is, first of all, support for maternity and childhood and the health of the working population, assistance to the elderly in the fight against cardiovascular and oncologic diseases. Well, today we are on the platform for the next important step – this is the digitalization of healthcare. Many measures to introduce new technologies, domestic equipment and medicines have already been implemented. But we should always remember that the health of a particular person is also conditioned by his or her lifestyle and preventive measures within the framework of recommendations of the medical community,” said Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko.

The main attention was paid to the launch of new projects. A solid foundation has been laid for the national project “Long and Active Life”, emphasized Mikhail Murashko: “All of the President’s instructions have been fulfilled on time, and results have been achieved in terms of improving indicators. First of all, these are the lowest infant mortality rates in the history of Russia and the Soviet Union, the lowest adult mortality rates, and an increase in life expectancy.

The program of modernization of primary health care will also be continued; it will be extended until 2030 and will make it possible to build more than 4.2 thousand additional medical facilities.  The launch of another related national project – “New Technologies for Health Preservation” – will ensure the production and availability of medicines and medical products. It will include directions for the development of domestic production of the most popular drugs, medical equipment and consumables. Also among the tasks for the future are increasing the effectiveness of preventive programs, measures to attract and retain medical personnel.

At the meeting, a solemn ceremony was held to present state awards of the Russian Federation and departmental awards of the Russian Ministry of Health for high professionalism and dedication shown in providing medical care in extreme conditions. Among them are the gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation, the medal “For Services to National Healthcare”, the Semashko medal, the Order of Pirogov, the medal of the Order “For Services to the Fatherland”, and the badge “Excellent Healthcare Worker”.
