History of the department

Department of Internal Diseases 3 with a course in Clinical Immunology and Allergy.

Chair of Intermediate Level Therapy was founded in 1936 by Georgy Pavlovich Rudnev, who later became a full member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences. A. G. Podvarko, N. P. Agricolyansky, M. S. Eisenstein, D. I. Sheikh-Ali, and U. M. Hadji-Murat worked as assistants of the department.

The main direction of scientific work in those years was the study of the epidemiology and clinic of brucellosis. G. P. Rudnev and A. G. Podvarko participated in expeditions to study brucellosis in Dagestan. In 1937-1938, the department was headed by B. S. Brevdo. From 1938 to 1945, the department was headed by Associate Professor I. D. Mishenin. In 1940, I. D. Mishenin defended his doctoral dissertation. During the Great Patriotic War, he simultaneously worked as the chief therapist of the department of evacuation hospitals of the DASSR.
M. S. Eisenstein, M. S. Friedlander, F. G. Rzaev, V. L. Kolomeitsev, N. A. Ardasenova, E. G. Skripnik, D. I. Sheikh-Ali worked as assistants of the department in the pre-war and war years.
During the period of holding the department by B. S. Brevdo and I. D. Mishenin, the main direction of scientific activity was the study of the brucellosis clinic as a regional pathology, and resort factors of DASSR, podagra treatment and clinic and early exhaustion.

From 1945 to 1952, the department was chaired by Associate Professor V.P. Rubtsov, and from 1952 to 1966 – Associate Professor, and then Professor D.I. Sheikh-Ali.
Since 1962, the Department of Faculty Therapy from the Republican Clinical Hospital was relocated to the first city hospital of Makhachkala, where it had two therapeutic departments with a bed fund for 105 patients. Assistants and associate professors at that time were: M. I. Vinkovsky, V. L. Kolomeitsov, G. Rzaeva, G. A. Uspenskaya, V. N. Mordvinkin, N. K. Kazanbiev, M. A. Kharkharov, M. M. Kebedov, K. M. Abdulkadyrov.

From 1966 to 1991 the Department of Faculty Therapy was headed by Professor Iskander Musayevich Musayev.

At this stage, the following assistants worked at the department: Z. P. Pankratova, I. V. Pyshnenko, F. N. Emirbekova, K-M. O. Minkailov, N. N. Yastrebtseva.
Since 1985, the department has been renamed the Department of Internal Diseases № 3. Since 1991, the department has been teaching a course in allergology and clinical immunology. Since 2005, it has been renamed the Department of Hospital Therapy № 3 with the course of Clinical Immunology and Allergology (the course is headed by Associate Professor Z. A. Halimova). Since 2017, it has been renamed the Department of Hospital Therapy № 2.

 

Esedov Esed Mutagirovich – MD, Professor, Honored Worker of RD, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation and RD. Since 1991, he has been the head of the department. He defended his PhD thesis in hematology (” Cytochemistry in anemia and leukemia”), and his doctoral thesis in gastroenterology (“Histomorphology, histo-and cytochemistry, and biochemistry of the mucous membrane in colitis”). He has published more than 300 scientific articles and methodological manuals for students and doctors. Over the past 5 years (2013-2018), he has published 40 articles and abstracts, and published 10 methodological manuals.

 

Shikhnebiev Dair Abdulkerimovich – MD, Professor, Honored Doctor of the Republic of Dagestan, doctor of the highest category. In 1989, he defended his PhD thesis and doctoral dissertation in 2000. Author of more than 270 scientific and educational works, including 4 monographs, 5 textbooks recommended by the EMA for Medical and Pharmaceutical Education of Russian universities and the EMA RANH for Classical and Technical Education as a textbook for the system of postgraduate professional education of doctors. He is the scientific editor of the journal “Vestnik DSMA”. He was awarded the medal Peter the Great.

 

Akhmedova Fariza Jonridovna — in 1989, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic “Clinical and hemodynamic effects of perdipine and nitroderma in the treatment of patients with chronic coronary insufficiency”. Since 1989, he has been working at the department, first as an assistant, and since 2000 as an associate professor. He is the author of 150 scientific articles and theses, 13 methodological manuals for students. Research topic: “Problems of pulmonology and connective tissue dysplasia”.

 

 

Muradova Valida Rakhmatullayevna defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “The state of the anti-oxidant system of the gastric and duodenal mucosa in patients with Helicobacter pylori-associated peptic ulcer disease” in 2003. She is the author of more than 100 scientific papers.

 

 

 

Abasova Albina Serazhudinovna — Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Dean of the 6th course of the Medical Faculty of DSMU. After graduating from DSMU with honors, she entered a clinical residency, then a postgraduate course in the specialty “Therapy”. Defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “Dynamics of nitric oxide content in gastric juice in patients with acid-dependent duodenum”: PhD thesis: 14.01.04: defended 28.01.2010: approved by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation 02.07.2010 degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences. Author of more than 100 scientific papers, including 8 educational-methodical and more than 100 scientific ones, including 15 in the Higher Attestation Commission-peer-reviewed journals and international databases Scopus, WEB of Science; co-author of 2 monographs. In 2017, she passed professional retraining in the specialty “Ultrasound diagnostics”, has a certificate of a doctor of ultrasound diagnostics (22.05.2017). From September to December 2017, she completed advanced training in pedagogy and psychology at the DSMU. Clinical experience in the Department of Gastroenterology of the RCH for more than 15 years. Doctor-gastroenterologist of the highest qualification category (certificate of gastroenterologist on the basis of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow). In clinical practice, she introduced a method for determining nitric oxide in gastric juice (Esedov E. M., Abbasova A. S.) in the pathology of the stomach and duodenum. Awarded the diploma of the 15th Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies “Archimedes”. Participant and prize-winner of International and All-Russian congresses and conferences. Conducts practical classes and lectures to students of the 6th course of the Faculty of Medicine.

Medzhidova Rabiyat Abdulmedzhidovna – Candidate of Medical Sciences, assistant, defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “Chorionic gonadotropin and progesterone in the complex therapy of IDA”. Author of 60 papers, 15 of them educational and 45 scientific, including 5 in the Higher Attestation Commission-reviewed journals, co-author of 1 monograph, 1 invention and 1 patent. Awarded a gold medal at the XII International Exhibition of Innovations “Archimedes” (2008) for “A method for treating refractory iron deficiency anemia”, received a patent for the invention (2007). Two speeches at the meetings of the Dagestan Scientific Medical Society of Therapists (2018), as well as at the II Congress of Therapists RD 34 Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference RSMST (June 22-23, 2017). Conducts practical classes and lectures on hospital therapy to students of the 6th course of the Faculty of Medicine.

Akbieva Dina Salikovna – Candidate of Medical Sciences, assistant, defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “Cytokine profile in the active phase of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and after course of drug therapy”. Author of 40 papers, including 5 educational-methodical and 35 scientific, including 5 in the Higher Attestation Commission-peer-reviewed journals, author of 1 patent. Presentations at the XXI International Conference “Actual scientific research in the modern world” (Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, Ukraine, 2017), XI International (XX All-Russian) Pirogov Scientific Medical Conference of Students and Young Scientists (Moscow, 2017), I Therapeutic Forum “Multidisciplinary patient”, I All-Russian Conference of Young Therapists (Moscow, 2017), 65th All-Russian Anniversary Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students with international participation “Unity” (Makhachkala, 2017), II Congress of Therapists of the Republic of Dagestan, 34th Interregional Conference of RSMST (Makhachkala, 2017), VII Scientific and Educational Conference of Cardiologists and Therapists of the Caucasus, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the DSMU (Makhachkala, 2017), scientific and practical conference “Gadzhiev readings” (Makhachkala, 2018). Awarded the diploma of the XXI Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies “Archimedes-2018”.

Conducts practical classes and lectures on hospital therapy to students of the 6th year of the Faculty of Medicine.

Luiza Nadirovna Musaeva – senior laboratory assistant. Graduated from the medical faculty of the Dagestan State Medical Academy in 2015.In 2015-2017, she was trained in a clinical residency in the specialty “Therapy” at the Department of Hospital Therapy No. 2 of the DSMU. Since 2017, she has been a senior laboratory assistant at the Department. In 2018, she entered the correspondence department of postgraduate studies in the specialty “Internal diseases”. The topic of the dissertation is related to the issues of gastroenterology. She is a co-author of more than 10 scientific papers, including 1 article reviewed by the Higher Attestation Commission.
SSC of the Department of Hospital Therapy № 2

 

The student scientific circle at the Department of Hospital Therapy№2 has been functioning since the foundation of the department. The head of the circle since the foundation of the SSC is the head of the department, prof. Esedov Esed Mutagirovich, responsible for holding meetings: Akhmedova F. D. (assist), Medzhidova RA (assist), Akbieva D. S.( asist), Musayeva L. N.(assist).
Scientific works are carried out with the personal participation of the circle members with subsequent publication. Meetings are held once every month at 15: 00. Monthly visit to the DNO. The group consists of 40 students of the 5th and 6th courses of the medical faculty.
Educational work

The priority direction of the department has always been and remains educational work with students through the specialty, profession. This task is served by regular conversations on issues of aesthetic and moral education, bioethics and humane attitude to the subject of future professional activity at morning conferences, lectures and practical classes.
Scientific work

The department has a student circle, whose members constantly make presentations at university and inter-university conferences, as well as at weekly cathedral clinical conferences.
Over the past 5 years, the department has defended and approved 3 PhD theses, 2 employees of the department are preparing for defense.
The department has a postgraduate program and a clinical residency. In the pulmonology, gastroenterology and allergology departments, clinical residents (including foreigners) and interns (15-20) are trained under the direct supervision of the department staff. Only in the last five years, 9 doctors have completed their clinical residency at the department, and 6 continue their training.
