In the preparatory department, classes are held at a rate of 36 hours per week (initial stage) to 18 hours per week (final stage). In the I-II courses, classes in groups are held at the rate of 6 hours per week, in the third year – 4 hours a week, in the IV-V courses – 2 hours a week. The deep knowledge test, verbal skills formation is carried out in the form of current, intermediate and final control.
The current control is carried out at each lesson in the form of an oral survey or written tasks, exercises and is aimed at proficiency level check of the mastered language material or the degree of formation of private skills. The results of the current control are recorded in the form of grades in the teacher’s journal, issued at each lesson.

Intermediate control is provided by the calendar and thematic plans of the department, it is carried out by the end of the cycle of classes devoted to any topic, in the form of a control work. It is designed to check the level of formation of private skills and abilities on the language material that is included in this cycle (according to the plans-every sixth week).

The final control is carried out at the end of the semester in the form of a credit or exam in the third year (6th semester). The examination and tests are held in three stages. The first stage is written, the second and the third are oral. By means of final control, first of all, the formation of more general speech skills and skills is checked. Tests and examinations are held in two procedures: in the form of pre-examination (pre-test) control written works and in the form of an oral survey. The department compiled samples of final controls for each semester, also compiled a fund of control materials of the department, which includes texts in the specialty and texts of the literary and artistic nature of the required volume and level of difficulty, which is used in the process of final control.
